Nestled in the heart of Calgary’s vibrant Inglewood neighbourhood, Lonneke and Jordan’s wedding unfolded as a celebration of love, perfectly capturing their vision of timeless elegance. The Commons, renowned for its industrial charm, served as the stunning backdrop for their special day. With exposed brick walls and ceilings adorned with crystal chandeliers, the space was transformed into a romantic haven, reflecting the couple’s preference for a clean and sophisticated aesthetic. Scroll through to see how this industrial venue got transformed from blank space, to soft and romantic ceremony, to a reception space worth the celebration!

Ceremony

Lonneke and Jordan chose a neutral color palette that emphasized simplicity and elegance. The use of whites, blush, and toffee-coloured florals created a harmonious and romantic atmosphere. This choice of colours not only complemented the industrial features of The Commons but also highlighted the couple’s desire for a clean and timeless look.

To soften the venue space, Grasslands Flower Co. added strands of greenery to the chandeliers. Large asymmetrical floral pillars framed the couple as they exchanged vows. The thoughtful design elements crafted a ceremony that was both visually stunning and true to the couple’s vision. Pam Davidson created a beautiful heartfelt ceremony in which L&G exchange personal vows. Highlight of the ceremony was the MOH’s reading which added a personal touch!

Reception

Following the ceremony, guests embarked on an exploration of the nearby breweries. The guests soaked in the vibrant atmosphere of Inglewood before returning for a cocktail hour. This interlude provided a perfect opportunity for the wedding party to capture memorable photos. Meanwhile, Events By Kate transformed the space for the reception. The transition was the perfect example of how we help our couples achieve their dream! Check out our packages to find the right fit for you!

Instead of the traditional round guest tables, the reception set up featured long harvest tables. The decor stayed true to the couple’s aesthetic with combination of white soft neutrals. Additionally, the soft colour palette and intentional decor gave the space a spacious and airy feel. Despite popular opinion, rectangular tables actually encourage more conversation than round tables! As a result, the evening was filled with heartfelt conversation, speeches and laughter.
